Endometrial receptivity assessment (ERA test)
The ERA test (Endometrial Receptivity Analysis) helps to ascertain the most convenient time to perform the embryo transfer into the uterine cavity, boosting the chances of success of this procedure (it establishes when the so-called implantation window occurs in the cycle).

The ERA test is a genetic test that analyses RNA obtained during an endometrial biopsy.
At the IGENOMIX genetic laboratory in Spain, geneticists analyse the sent material using the NGS method and then recommend the best time to perform the embryo transfer.

Preparation
for testing
Testing is recommended if:
- Past attempts at in vitro fertilisation have been unsuccessful due to lack of embryo implantation;
- There are recurrent spontaneous abortions, biochemical pregnancies;
- Patient’s age is over 35 years;
- Patient’s BMI is over 30;
- Endometrial atrophy is present;
- Patient has been diagnosed with adenomyosis.
In a natural cycle, the ERA test is performed approximately seven days after the LH hormone is secreted.
If the patient is on hormonal stimulation, a sample of the endometrium (mucous membrane of the uterine cavity) is collected on the fifth day after ovarian puncture, or after five days of progesterone intake in an artificial (pharmacological) cycle.
You must report to the clinic on the date set by your attending physician.
Depending on the patient’s clinical situation, the physician orders specific hormonal blood tests.
- Pregnancy;
- Acute inflammation (of the vagina, uterine cavity, appendages);
- Genital tract bleeding or spotting.

I highly recommend pregnancy management. My past experience with other doctors was that there was little to be gained from the appointments, the doctors were reluctant to tell me what they saw, unwilling to answer questions, and Ms Joanna answered every single one, demonstrating an enormous amount of patience. Although our little sunshine is already 6 years old, so far, when I look at her, I still have Dr Chrostowski and the Artvimed clinic in my mind… Dr Chrostowski has got that something about him that, when you are in his office, you know that you couldn’t have found a better place.
